The mask part 1; The world´s smallest
2019, three screen synchronised video projection with sound, 21.35min
Installation shot Oseana kunst og kultursenter 2019 “The mask”
The mask – a new face put on top of the old one – enables its carrier to free itself from itself and to become someone else. Thus the mask can liberate the person behind the mask, but at the same time deceive its surroundings and represent the fake, the supressed, and the unearnest.
THE MASK Part 1: The worlds’ smallest mask is the first part in a series of documentary based video installations. In Bangkok characters get ready for the world clown convention in 2017, and in England, Arthur, also known as Arthuro and Clown Vercoe, gradually layers his clown face and shares his experiences with the camera. We witness a slow metamorphosis as Arthur and his colleagues gradually fade and the clowns take over.
